The recent storms Eunice and  Franklin have left their mark on the wood. Apart from the unexpected gift from Wiggerland Wood – a tree that fell across the Moreton Morrell road and most of which is now in Oakley Wood – the most affected areas of the wood are probably not surprisingly those that were recently thinned. I counted 16 large trees uprooted within the Camp, with the path through the middle of it now completely blocked. I’m not sure what if anything will be done about this as the path is not an official one.

There are also trees down across the south-west ride, also in a part which has just been thinned.

This ride is maintained by WDC and I’ll be letting them know.
