Over the last year the camera has increasingly caught glimpses of an owl at the pond, and the carefully repositioned camera has captured it on its favourite perch. It turns out to be the place for owl hopefuls to meet so now we have evidence that there is a pair and hopefully breeding in the wood.
On Sunday I took my lock-down exercise in the wood at 5am so I could record some dawn chorus. It was still half-dark when I first pressed “record”, and I got this:
So there we have it – owls (well, and wren, crow, song thrush…)
Great news, lovely to see them rather than just here them and lovely to see badgers as well.
